Rob Roy Small Boats Head – 5th October

Last weekend, a flotilla of the boatclub’s small boats took to the water in the first race of term, the Rob Roy Small Boats Head. The first division saw 4 doubles, with most making their sculling race debuts. Leading the pack were Ben and Ieuan, who despite only having trained together three times, delivered a strong performance to win their category. Next came Emily and Lucy, with Lucy’s sculling expertise coming in handy through grassy. Third were our standout crew of the race,  Flo and Sophie, winning their division, followed by Marnie and Ellen,  who did considerably more than just ‘staying dry’, managing to come second in their category. The second half of the day saw two singles bravely tackle the course.   Experienced sculler Eugenie was cool under pressure and delivered a solid performance, while our sculling superstar Sophie, despite not having eaten for 24 hours delivered a powerful performance, coming second in her category.  Well done everyone on a great day of racing!

Tubbing Has Started

Trinity Hall is excited to welcome our new novices into their first boats, the trusty tubs. Coxed and coached by our seniors, it’s been lovely to see so many keen new rowers, both undergrad and postgrad alike.
